Curious what people think. Just moved here 18 months ago and Household incomes average around $107,283 in Yorkshire. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Any advice would be great. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 2 years ago from Raleigh and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Cedar Grove. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in manufacturing. If you're in engineering you might struggle.
People: Generally tough. It took about 14 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a physical therapist, 40, moved here 11 years ago from San Diego. I've lived in East and Uptown, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Nice parks and green spaces
2. Decent public transit for the size
3. Strong job market in several industries
4. The people are generally excellent - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited high-paying job options
2. Property taxes are high
3. The food scene situation is pricey and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- East: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Uptown: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Diego, everything felt excellent. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are established. Gas is affordable. You can live comfortably on $80K-$90K here.
**Final verdict:**

I've lived in Westside for about 14 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by healthcare. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- The school system scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Road conditions need improvement
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for couples. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
