Hey folks, The unemployment rate is 6.1%, which is concerning. Median household income is $34,746, which feels on the lower side for the area. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. What would you do? The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The weather takes some getting used to. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 13 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is traffic. It's wild and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into fishing, this place is solid.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The West side vs the Highland side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I'm still on the fence after all this time. The walkability is honestly hit or miss and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Compared to Denver it's average.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 3 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's not perfect but it works for me. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by job market. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- The weather scene is excellent
The downsides:
- Not very walkable outside downtown
- Limited shopping options
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Public transit is pretty good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Internet is tough in most areas.
