Just moved to Ypsilanti, any tips?

We have two kids and Homes are going for about $223,700 on average. Rent is about $1,034/month for a decent place. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Is this normal for Ypsilanti? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.
