OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from Miami and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in North. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in construction. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally pretty good. It took about 18 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like sushi.

Came here for a job opportunity and stayed because it's improved dramatically in recent years. The housing market is honestly underrated and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are hit or miss, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.
I've been here 1 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's stable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the public transit is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is challenging.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Highland side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. I have mixed feelings honestly. Internet is excellent in most areas.
