Working remotely from Yuba City

We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 4.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Yuba City sits at 358.8 per 100K. Rent is about $1,391/month for a decent place. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The city has invested a lot in new development. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. I've lived in Fairview for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Close to major attractions
- The dating scene scene is average

The downsides:
- Summers can be brutally hot
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for retirees. Good luck with whatever you decide..

We moved here with our family and it's been a really good experience overall. Schools in East area are solid. Kids love it here.
