Longtime lurker here, Median household income is $92,401, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $92,401 in Yucaipa. The city has invested a lot in new development. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Thoughts? The weather takes some getting used to. The city has invested a lot in new development. The city has invested a lot in new development. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The city has invested a lot in new development. Property taxes are high but you get good services. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Bought a house here in 2019 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 3-bedroom. I love the pace of life here. Compared to Baltimore it's tough.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Portland about 10 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Active local events and festivals
- Good airport with direct flights
Cons that are real:
- Winters are long and cold
- Rising rent and home prices
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a writer who relocated here from Raleigh about 15 years ago. The main reasons were family and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Strong job market in several industries
- Active local events and festivals
- Strong sense of community
Cons that are real:
- Limited shopping options
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are pricey, gas is solid.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

I've lived in South for about 6 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from Phoenix, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Strong job market in several industries
- The walkability scene is tough
The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for remote workers. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is nightlife. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Worth doing your research before committing.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value safety, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely underrated and I've found I love the pace of life here. My neighborhood (Old Town) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Houston, be prepared for the culture shock. healthcare is completely different here. And Limited entertainment options.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are decent, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
