Hey everyone, Military spouse here. Household incomes average around $92,401 in Yucaipa. With a population of 54,348, Yucaipa is a smaller city. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Would love some local perspective. Cheers.

My experience has been mostly positive. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The only thing I'd watch out for is dating scene. Other than that, Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

As someone who grew up here, it's exactly what I was looking for. A lot has changed in the past few years though. job market used to be much established but now it's excellent.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.
If you value school system, you'll love it. The dating scene is genuinely challenging and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Cedar Grove) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.
But if you're coming from Baltimore, be prepared for the culture shock. dating scene is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.
My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 4 years ago from LA and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's improving for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in retail. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 16 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: average. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
