Yucaipa housing prices -when will it stop?

Anyone else feel this way? Rent is about $1,661/month for a decent place. Poverty rate is 7.0%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider -Yucaipa sits at 370.6 per 100K. The unemployment rate is 4.2%, which is about average. Household incomes average around $92,401 in Yucaipa. The suburbs are where most families end up. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Pros:
- Nice parks and trails
- Good schools
- Low taxes
- Good healthcare facilities
- Active local events

Cons:
- Boring for young people
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
Let me know your thoughts. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a project manager, 37, moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco. I've lived in Greenfield and Fairview, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Decent public transit for the size
2. Good internet infrastructure
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally hit or miss - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Property taxes are high
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The food scene situation is wild and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Greenfield: Great for singles. improving vibes, walkable.
- Fairview: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from San Francisco, everything felt average. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are competitive. Gas is competitive. You can live comfortably on $90K-$80K here.

**Final verdict:**
Hope this helps!. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
