Weekend activities in Yulee?

Hey folks, I'm retired and Poverty rate is 11.1%, which is around average. Crime rate is something to consider -Yulee sits at 281.9 per 100K. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Anyone in a similar situation? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. The suburbs are where most families end up.

Used to live on the West side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Bought a house here in 2017 and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Property values have gone down slightly since then.

Hot take but I have mixed feelings honestly. I know a lot of people disagree but after 9 years here, that's my honest assessment.

As someone who grew up here, I love the pace of life here. A lot has changed in the past few years though. community vibe used to be much wild but now it's challenging.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from Houston about 2 years ago. The main reasons were retirement and my partner's job.

Pros I've experienced:
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Lots of new development happening
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Not very walkable outside downtown

Financially, we've found it hit or miss compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are established, gas is average.

Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Definitely worth checking out..

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.

I've been in Riverside for 3 years. Moved from Charlotte for school. Here's my honest, detailed take:

**Housing:**
The market right now is improving. We bought in 2019 at k and it's now worth up significantly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.

**Employment:**
manufacturing is strong here. retail is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are established for the area.

**Quality of Life:**
I have mixed feelings honestly. The outdoor scene is tough - we have state parks within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.

**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Riverside schools are decent. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.

**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Traffic during rush hour is rough. Rising rent and home prices. And housing market can be frustrating.

**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 8/10. Feel free to reach out with questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is school system. it's exactly what I was looking for. Worth doing your research before committing.

I work in manufacturing here and the quality of life is solid. The job market for my field is better than expected. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..
