Hey folks, With a population of 19,637, Zachary is a small town. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Weather-wise, the summers are tough and winters are reasonable. You get used to it after the first year.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I genuinely enjoy living here.

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is walkability. the quality of life is solid. Worth doing your research before committing.
