Career opportunities in Zanesville, OH

Longtime lurker here, I'm a teacher here and The median home value here is around $106,900, which is actually reasonable. Median household income is $39,085, which feels on the lower side for the area. Household incomes average around $39,085 in Zanesville. Crime rate is something to consider -Zanesville sits at 351.1 per 100K. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Anyone in a similar situation? The weather takes some getting used to. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a HR manager who relocated here from Austin about 9 years ago. The main reasons were family and school.

Pros I've experienced:
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good schools in most areas
- Good airport with direct flights

Cons that are real:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Homeless population growing downtown

Financially, we've found it excellent compared to where we came from. Older homes are where the value is. Groceries are stable, gas is average.

Socially, I'm still on the fence after all this time. No regrets on my end..

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Westside side. Completely different vibe. I have mixed feelings honestly.
