Worst things about Zanesville nobody talks about

First post here. Rent is about $812/month for a decent place.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a real estate agent who relocated here from Denver about 2 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and a job opportunity.

Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Close to major attractions
- Affordable housing options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Bugs and humidity in summer

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are pricey, gas is challenging.

Socially, it's exactly what I was looking for. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.

I've been here 5 years and it's exactly what I was looking for. The thing nobody mentions is public transit. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into surfing, this place is excellent.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the West side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

Moved here from Atlanta about 15 years ago. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Still getting used to safety but Happy to answer more specific questions..
