Thinking about relocating to Zephyrhills from Portland
Alright, My family moved here when I was a kid. Crime rate is something to consider -Zephyrhills sits at 309.4 per 100K. It's a a small town city with about 18,471 people. The suburbs are where most families end up. What do you all think? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from Seattle and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Meadowbrook. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in engineering. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally decent. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: solid. Tons of options if you like Vietnamese.
Hope this helps!.

I've lived in West for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it exceeded my expectations. When I first moved here from Boston, I was surprised by weather. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Lots of new development happening
- Four distinct seasons
- The cost of living scene is average
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options
Overall I'd rate it 6/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.
