Newburyport High School An unknown ghost haunts the halls of the third floor in Newburyport High school. Janitors have reported the sounds of footsteps passing right by them late at night when no one else occupies the building. They have also reported smelling a faint scent of pipe smoke in the hall. It is believed that the ghost is friendly, possibly a former teacher or alum from NHS.
Old Hill Cemetery This cemetery, the oldest in Newburyport (which rests across the street from the historic "Olde Goal" and alongside the Barlette Mall), has a history of, well, unadulterated strangeness. There are cases where visitors have been temporarily "possessed" and taken on different personalities while at the cemetery.
