I'm a nurse at the local hospital and Average temperature is around 58--F, so the weather is moderate. The median home value here is around $1,203,900, which is pretty steep. With a population of 76,876, Alameda is a smaller city. Crime rate is something to consider -Alameda sits at 205.3 per 100K. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.
