Hey folks, I'm retired and Median household income is $36,694, which feels on the lower side for the area. Average temperature is around 62--F, so the weather is moderate. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great.

I've been living here for 1 years and I'd say it was the best decision I ever made. The traffic is average compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Weather-wise, the summers are excellent and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the Lakewood side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's exactly what I was looking for. Feel free to reach out with questions..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 13 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Highland. It's tough for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in engineering. If you're in healthcare you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 3 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: better than expected. Tons of options if you like Asian.
