Rent vs buy in Altoona -what makes sense?

Hi all, You can expect to pay around $1,157 for rent here. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.
