Been meaning to ask this. We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 1.5%, which is pretty low. Household incomes average around $80,126 in Altoona. Poverty rate is 7.3%, which is pretty low. Rent is about $1,157/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Let me know your thoughts. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly.
