Curious what people think. I work in construction and Crime rate is something to consider -Amherst sits at 32.9 per 100K. Household incomes average around $93,043 in Amherst. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Any advice would be great. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Property taxes are high but you get good services.
