I've lived in Greenfield for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from San Diego, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good internet infrastructure
- The healthcare scene is challenging
The downsides:
- Chain restaurants dominate
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 9/10 for singles. Feel free to reach out with questions..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. the quality of life is solid.
