Hey everyone, Household incomes average around $43,782 in Ashtabula. With a population of 17,919, Ashtabula is a small town. The median home value here is around $99,200, which is actually reasonable. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Any help is appreciated. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. The weather takes some getting used to. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The food scene here is surprisingly good. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The suburbs are where most families end up. Used to live on the Pine Hills side, now on the Maple Ridge side. Completely different vibe. it exceeded my expectations.

I work in healthcare here and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The job market for my field is improving. Definitely worth checking out..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Pine Hills for 3 years. Moved from Minneapolis for a job opportunity. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is challenging. We bought in 2021 at k and it's now worth about the same than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals.
**Employment:**
finance is strong here. education is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are affordable for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The outdoor scene is underrated - we have biking trails within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Pine Hills schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Winters are long and cold. Bugs and humidity in summer. And healthcare can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For singles, I'd say this is a 9/10. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
