Curious what people think. I'm a nurse at the local hospital and It's a a small town city with about 17,919 people. The city has invested a lot in new development. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Let me know your thoughts.

Public transit is decent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's improved dramatically in recent years.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a teacher who relocated here from Raleigh about 4 years ago. The main reasons were family and family.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Decent public transit for the size
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Chain restaurants dominate
Financially, we've found it improving compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are growing, gas is pretty good.
Socially, the quality of life is solid. Happy to answer more specific questions..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is weather. it's improved dramatically in recent years. Worth doing your research before committing.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 1-bedroom. there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. Compared to Pittsburgh it's hit or miss.
