Weekend activities in Athens?

Curious what people think. I work in logistics and Median household income is $53,151, which feels on the lower side for the area. The suburbs are where most families end up. The weather takes some getting used to. Am I wrong here? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I work in legal here and I love the pace of life here. The job market for my field is excellent. No regrets on my end..

Came here for retirement and stayed because I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. The food scene is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

Used to live on the East side, now on the Uptown side. Completely different vibe. it's been a really good experience overall.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 13 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is cost of living. It's competitive and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the housing market is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is improving.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Downtown side vs the Uptown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

No regrets on my end..

I've been here 3 years and the quality of life is solid. The thing nobody mentions is safety. It's pricey and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the dating scene is legit. And if you're into rock climbing, this place is surprisingly good.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Oak Park side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Good luck with whatever you decide..
