Hey folks, Median household income is $81,938, which feels pretty solid for the area. Crime rate is something to consider — Atlanta sits at 1,227.4 per 100K. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Thanks for reading.

Used to live on the Meadowbrook side, now on the Riverside side. Completely different vibe. it's not perfect but it works for me.

I've lived in Maple Ridge for about 5 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
the quality of life is solid. When I first moved here from San Francisco, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- The traffic scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Can feel isolated
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for young professionals. Happy to answer more specific questions..

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem hit or miss.
I've been here 13 years and I'm still on the fence after all this time. The thing nobody mentions is cultural scene. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the weather is legit. And if you're into kayaking, this place is hit or miss.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Greenfield side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Springfield. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is reasonable right now, especially in construction. If you're in real estate you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 9 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.
Would recommend to anyone considering it..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want cost of living, then yeah this place is great. But if dating scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

The food scene here is tough. Tons of great Asian places. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 1 years ago from Atlanta and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in South. It's pretty good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is developing right now, especially in real estate. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 15 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: decent. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. it was the best decision I ever made. Compared to Nashville it's average.

Public transit is average here. You'll probably need a car for most things. it's not perfect but it works for me.
