OK so I've been here for 13 years and Household incomes average around $81,938 in Atlanta. Poverty rate is 12.9%, which is around average. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The suburbs are where most families end up. What neighborhoods would you suggest? There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Denver about 6 years ago. The main reasons were school and quality of life.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Limited public transit options
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are pricey, gas is decent.
Socially, there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
