Median household income is $81,938, which feels pretty solid for the area. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. Has anyone dealt with this? There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable.

We moved here with our family and I genuinely enjoy living here. Schools in Fairview area are improving. Kids love it here.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a contractor who relocated here from Baltimore about 4 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Lots of new development happening
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
Cons that are real:
- Traffic during rush hour is rough
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it surprisingly good compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are affordable, gas is average.
Socially, I have mixed feelings honestly. Definitely worth checking out..

I work in tech here and it's been a really good experience overall. The job market for my field is challenging. Would recommend to anyone considering it..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 3 years ago from San Francisco and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: Lots of new construction which should help. We're paying /mo for a 3-bed in Highland. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is established right now, especially in hospitality. If you're in education you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: challenging. Tons of options if you like Korean.
