Unpopular opinion about Balch Springs

Not sure if this has been asked before, but Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $208,200, which is actually reasonable. The weather takes some getting used to. Any advice would be great. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

As someone who grew up here, the quality of life is solid. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much manageable but now it's excellent.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem better than expected.

I've been here 1 years and it exceeded my expectations. The thing nobody mentions is walkability. It's affordable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the safety is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is underrated.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Maple Ridge side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
