Weekend activities in Baton Rouge?

Military spouse here. The median home value here is around $224,500, which is actually reasonable. With a population of 224K, Baton Rouge is a mid-size city. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in South for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. When I first moved here from Minneapolis, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Good schools in most areas
- Nice parks and green spaces
- The outdoor recreation scene is better than expected

The downsides:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Urban sprawl is real

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for singles. No regrets on my end..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if cultural scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
