Not sure if this has been asked before, but You can expect to pay around $1,044 for rent here. Rent is about $1,044/month for a decent place. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Anyone in a similar situation? Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is challenging in most areas.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Tampa about 15 years ago. The main reasons were school and work.
Pros I've experienced:
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size
- Diverse dining options
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it average compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are affordable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Good luck with whatever you decide..
