Curious what people think. We have two kids and Poverty rate is 22.2%, which is higher than I expected. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. What are your go-to spots? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level.

I've lived in Old Town for about 10 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it was the best decision I ever made. When I first moved here from Pittsburgh, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Good healthcare facilities
- The food scene scene is average
The downsides:
- Limited public transit options
- Homeless population growing downtown
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for retirees. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want outdoor recreation, then yeah this place is great. But if food scene matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.
