Best coffee shops in Beaver Dam?

I work in finance and Homes are going for about $155,800 on average. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Has anyone dealt with this? People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Property taxes are high but you get good services. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 2-bedroom. I genuinely enjoy living here. Compared to Phoenix it's surprisingly good.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 11 years ago from Austin and here's my honest breakdown:

Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Oak Park. It's solid for what you get.

Jobs: The market is competitive right now, especially in government. If you're in finance you might struggle.

People: Generally average. It took about 12 months to build a solid friend group.

Food: pretty good. Tons of options if you like Mexican.

Hope this helps!.
