First post here. Been living here since 2010. Median household income is $55,688, which feels about average for the area. Rent is about $1,216/month for a decent place. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Houston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and my partner's job.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Nice parks and green spaces
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Dating scene is rough
- Limited entertainment options
Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are established, gas is hit or miss.
Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
