Hey everyone, Military spouse here. With a population of 1,664, Bement is a small town. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Not gonna lie, the first year was rough. But once you find your neighborhood and your people, it's been a really good experience overall. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Midtown for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Austin, I was surprised by cost of living. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Growing food and restaurant scene
- Decent public transit for the size
- The outdoor recreation scene is pretty good
The downsides:
- Road conditions need improvement
- Dating scene is rough
Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. Good luck with whatever you decide..

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 5 years ago from Charlotte and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 1-bed in Fairview. It's challenging for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in construction. If you're in consulting you might struggle.
People: Generally average. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: excellent. Tons of options if you like craft beer.
