Best and worst neighborhoods in Biloxi

Longtime lurker here, Born and raised here. Poverty rate is 13.0%, which is around average. Median household income is $55,958, which feels about average for the area. Homes are going for about $203,200 on average. With a population of 49,011, Biloxi is a smaller city. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

Pros:
- Low taxes
- Lots of new development
- Strong sense of community
- Plenty of shopping options
- Active local events

Cons:
- Not very walkable
- High property taxes
- Boring for young people
- Limited cultural events
Anyone in a similar situation? Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The city has invested a lot in new development. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The weather takes some getting used to. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. I've been living here for 13 years and I'd say there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The walkability is challenging compared to other places I've lived. Overall No regrets on my end..

Bought a house here in 2015 and I love the pace of life here. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

I've lived in Sunset for about 8 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I genuinely enjoy living here. When I first moved here from Baltimore, I was surprised by public transit. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Lots of new development happening
- The nightlife scene is challenging

The downsides:
- Limited high-paying job options
- Homeless population growing downtown

Overall I'd rate it 5/10 for remote workers. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Public transit is excellent here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a sales manager who relocated here from Boston about 14 years ago. The main reasons were family and weather.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good internet infrastructure
- Close to major attractions
- Diverse dining options

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Limited high-paying job options

Financially, we've found it better than expected compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are reasonable, gas is hit or miss.

Socially, I genuinely enjoy living here. It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is housing market. I'm still on the fence after all this time. Worth doing your research before committing.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem underrated.

I've been here 1 years and I love the pace of life here. The thing nobody mentions is housing market. It's reasonable and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the outdoor recreation is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Eastside side vs the Cedar Grove side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Feel free to reach out with questions..

I'm a physical therapist who relocated here from San Diego about 13 years ago. The main reasons were quality of life and quality of life.

Pros I've experienced:
- Good schools in most areas
- Low crime in most neighborhoods
- Decent public transit for the size

Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it pretty good compared to where we came from. If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. Groceries are stable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it's not perfect but it works for me. It's not for everyone but it works for us..
