Is Birmingham good for remote workers?

Hey everyone, I'm a 26-year-old marketing manager and It's a a mid-size city city with about 199K people. Rent is about $1,047/month for a decent place. The city has invested a lot in new development. Am I wrong here?

Renting here right now, paying about /mo for a 4-bedroom. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. Compared to Salt Lake City it's solid.
