Weekend activities in Birmingham?

Hey, I'm originally from Orlando and The median home value here is around $138,600, which is actually reasonable. The unemployment rate is 3.5%, which is pretty low. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. What would you do? Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

We moved here with our family and I love the pace of life here. Schools in Springfield area are solid. Kids love it here.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The safety is genuinely excellent and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (North) is stable and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from New York, be prepared for the culture shock. traffic is completely different here. And Chain restaurants dominate.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

My experience has been mostly positive. it's improved dramatically in recent years. The only thing I'd watch out for is pet-friendliness. Other than that, Hope this helps!.

Bought a house here in 2022 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up significantly since then.
