So, Been living here since 2015. Homes are going for about $211,000 on average. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Am I overthinking this? The food scene here is surprisingly good. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a software engineer who relocated here from Denver about 15 years ago. The main reasons were my partner's job and weather.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Strong job market in several industries
- Four distinct seasons
Cons that are real:
- Rising rent and home prices
- Far from beaches/mountains
Financially, we've found it underrated compared to where we came from. The market is competitive but not impossible. Groceries are stable, gas is improving.
Socially, it's improved dramatically in recent years. Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Bought a house here in 2018 and it's been a really good experience overall. Property values have gone up a bit since then.
