I've been living here for 8 years and I'd say it exceeded my expectations. The traffic is better than expected compared to other places I've lived. Overall Hope this helps!.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a project manager who relocated here from Raleigh about 6 years ago. The main reasons were cost of living and cost of living.
Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Good internet infrastructure
- Affordable housing options
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Homeless population growing downtown
Financially, we've found it challenging compared to where we came from. It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. Groceries are established, gas is surprisingly good.
Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Definitely worth checking out..
