Working remotely from Boyne City

Hello, Crime rate is something to consider -Boyne City sits at 346.5 per 100K. The weather takes some getting used to. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The food scene here is surprisingly good. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. Night life is decent if you know the right spots.

I work in construction here and I have mixed feelings honestly. The job market for my field is challenging. Definitely worth checking out..

Bought a house here in 2021 and it's exactly what I was looking for. Property values have gone up a bit since then.

If you're remote, this place is great for cost of living. it's exactly what I was looking for. Internet is excellent in most areas.

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if school system matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value pet-friendliness, you'll love it. The public transit is genuinely pretty good and I've found I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. My neighborhood (East) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Tampa, be prepared for the culture shock. housing market is completely different here. And Rising rent and home prices.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

From a safety perspective, it really depends on the area. Some neighborhoods are tough, others not so much. Do your research on specific streets.
