Living in Brady -the reality

OK so Crime rate is something to consider -Brady sits at 170.2 per 100K. Median household income is $44,163, which feels on the lower side for the area. Homes are going for about $102,900 on average. Rent is about $836/month for a decent place. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods.

Pros:
- Good schools
- Close to nature
- Lots of new development
- Good internet infrastructure

Cons:
- Limited dining options
- Lack of diversity
- Poor road conditions
- Far from major airports
- Limited cultural events
The weather takes some getting used to. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Moved here from Nashville about 14 years ago. it's exactly what I was looking for. Still getting used to healthcare but It's not for everyone but it works for us..

Used to live on the Downtown side, now on the North side. Completely different vibe. I genuinely enjoy living here.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.

I've been here 5 years and it was the best decision I ever made. The thing nobody mentions is school system. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.

That said, the walkability is legit. And if you're into biking, this place is challenging.

Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Midtown side vs the Downtown side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.

Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

I'd say the biggest thing people don't talk about is food scene. it's not perfect but it works for me. Worth doing your research before committing.

As someone who grew up here, it was the best decision I ever made. A lot has changed in the past few years though. traffic used to be much affordable but now it's excellent.

Came here for retirement and stayed because I love the pace of life here. The weather is honestly better than expected and I don't see that changing anytime soon.
