Hey, We have two kids and The unemployment rate is 7.6%, which is concerning. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Cheers.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 8 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: It's gotten pricier but still beats the coasts. We're paying /mo for a 4-bed in North. It's average for what you get.
Jobs: The market is manageable right now, especially in tech. If you're in hospitality you might struggle.
People: Generally improving. It took about 8 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: tough. Tons of options if you like Mexican.
No regrets on my end..

Hot take but it's improved dramatically in recent years. I know a lot of people disagree but after 7 years here, that's my honest assessment.

I've been living here for 14 years and I'd say I have mixed feelings honestly. The cultural scene is surprisingly good compared to other places I've lived. Overall It's not for everyone but it works for us..
