Curious what people think. Rent is about $999/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Branson sits at 624.6 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $999 for rent here. Average temperature is around 57--F, so the weather is moderate. The suburbs are where most families end up. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. The city has invested a lot in new development. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The food scene here is surprisingly good. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that.

Alright, I'll give you the full rundown since I see a lot of surface-level answers here.
I've been in Greenfield for 9 years. Moved from Raleigh for family. Here's my honest, detailed take:
**Housing:**
The market right now is surprisingly good. We bought in 2024 at k and it's now worth down slightly than that. If you're renting, expect /mo for a decent 4-bed in a safe area. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable.
**Employment:**
legal is strong here. tech is hit or miss. If you're remote, you'll love the cost of living. Average salaries are growing for the area.
**Quality of Life:**
it's not perfect but it works for me. The outdoor scene is surprisingly good - we have mountains within easy driving distance. Dining has gotten so much better in the past few years.
**Schools (if relevant):**
Varies hugely by district. Greenfield schools are improving. If you have kids, this should be your number one factor in choosing a neighborhood.
**The Bad:**
I'd be lying if I said everything is great. Rising rent and home prices. Property taxes are high. And cultural scene can be frustrating.
**Bottom line:**
For couples, I'd say this is a 5/10. Happy to answer more specific questions.. Feel free to ask specific questions - happy to help.

I've lived in Fairview for about 11 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
it's exactly what I was looking for. When I first moved here from Raleigh, I was surprised by nightlife. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Good healthcare facilities
- Affordable housing options
- The community vibe scene is hit or miss
The downsides:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for remote workers. Hope this helps!.
