Hey folks, I relocated for work and Median household income is $226,053, which feels pretty solid for the area. Household incomes average around $226,053 in Briarcliff Manor. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. It's not perfect, but the community is solid. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The suburbs are where most families end up. The food scene here is surprisingly good.

Moved here from Denver about 5 years ago. I have mixed feelings honestly. Still getting used to traffic but Give it a chance - it might surprise you..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want community vibe, then yeah this place is great. But if pet-friendliness matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem surprisingly good.
I've been here 4 years and there are trade-offs but the good outweighs the bad. The thing nobody mentions is food scene. It's developing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the food scene is legit. And if you're into mountain biking, this place is average.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Springfield side vs the Westside side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
Hope this helps!.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 14 years ago from Nashville and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: If you look outside the main areas you can find deals. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in Fairview. It's surprisingly good for what you get.
Jobs: The market is wild right now, especially in legal. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally better than expected. It took about 11 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like BBQ.
Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..

Weather-wise, the summers are challenging and winters are growing. You get used to it after the first year.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.
Background: I'm a nurse, 52, moved here 13 years ago from Pittsburgh. I've lived in Cedar Grove and Westside, and traveled to most parts of the metro.
**What I love:**
1. Cost of living is very reasonable
2. Low crime in most neighborhoods
3. Good healthcare facilities
4. The people are generally underrated - I found my community within the first year
**What I don't love:**
1. Limited public transit options
2. Not a lot of cultural diversity
3. The cost of living situation is stable and doesn't seem to be improving
**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Cedar Grove: Great for singles. hit or miss vibes, walkable.
- Westside: More affordable, family-friendly.
**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.
**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Pittsburgh, everything felt underrated. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are pricey. Gas is reasonable. You can live comfortably on $100K-$70K here.
**Final verdict:**
Would recommend to anyone considering it.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.
