First post here. Been living here since 2024. Rent is about $862/month for a decent place. Crime rate is something to consider -Brookings sits at 217.5 per 100K. You can expect to pay around $862 for rent here. Household incomes average around $61,979 in Brookings. The weather takes some getting used to. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Let me know your thoughts. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. It's changing fast -some good, some not so much. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. The city has invested a lot in new development.
