Burton in the winter -how bad?

Hey, I work in consulting and Average temperature is around 68--F, so the weather is moderate. Rent is about $1,281/month for a decent place. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. The school system varies a lot by neighborhood. Should I be concerned?
