Top 5 things I love about Calverton

OK so Average temperature is around 51--F, so expect cold winters. It's a very car-dependent city, for better or worse.

My experience has been mostly positive. I'm still on the fence after all this time. The only thing I'd watch out for is housing market. Other than that, Good luck with whatever you decide..

Weather-wise, the summers are better than expected and winters are established. You get used to it after the first year.

Used to live on the The Heights side, now on the Old Town side. Completely different vibe. I'm still on the fence after all this time.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value healthcare, you'll love it. The community vibe is genuinely tough and I've found the quality of life is solid. My neighborhood (Riverside) is growing and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Austin, be prepared for the culture shock. safety is completely different here. And Property taxes are high.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
