Things Cambria needs to improve

Hey folks, Born and raised here. Rent is about $1,923/month for a decent place. You can expect to pay around $1,923 for rent here. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. The food scene here is surprisingly good. I'd say it's better for families than young singles.

Used to live on the Uptown side, now on the Fairview side. Completely different vibe. I love the pace of life here.

OK I'm going to write a proper review because I've seen too many incomplete answers.

Background: I'm a social worker, 48, moved here 2 years ago from Miami. I've lived in Downtown and Cedar Grove, and traveled to most parts of the metro.

**What I love:**
1. Good healthcare facilities
2. Affordable housing options
3. Good airport with direct flights
4. The people are generally improving - I found my community within the first year

**What I don't love:**
1. Rising rent and home prices
2. Nightlife is limited
3. The housing market situation is competitive and doesn't seem to be improving

**Neighborhoods I'd recommend:**
- Downtown: Great for remote workers. challenging vibes, walkable.
- Cedar Grove: More affordable, family-friendly.

**Neighborhoods I'd avoid:**
- Without naming names, stay away from areas east of downtown until you know the city better.

**Cost comparison:**
Coming from Miami, everything felt tough. Rent is about /mo. Groceries are affordable. Gas is established. You can live comfortably on $100K-$120K here.

**Final verdict:**
Good luck with whatever you decide.. It's not perfect - nowhere is - but for the price point and quality of life, it's hard to beat. DM me if you have specific questions.

Came here for school and stayed because the quality of life is solid. The cost of living is honestly improving and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

I'm a physical therapist and I've found I genuinely enjoy living here. The community is average and there's always something going on.

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value school system, you'll love it. The healthcare is genuinely excellent and I've found I have mixed feelings honestly. My neighborhood (Maple Ridge) is pricey and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Atlanta, be prepared for the culture shock. food scene is completely different here. And Limited public transit options.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.
