Hey, I work in marketing and It's a a small town city with about 13,094 people. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. There's a growing tech scene which is exciting. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. Property taxes are high but you get good services. The suburbs are where most families end up. The city has invested a lot in new development. It's not perfect, but the community is solid.

Gonna give a different perspective here since most replies seem tough.
I've been here 7 years and it's improved dramatically in recent years. The thing nobody mentions is healthcare. It's growing and it affects daily life more than you'd think.
That said, the school system is legit. And if you're into photography, this place is better than expected.
Neighborhood matters A LOT here. The Old Town side vs the South side are basically different cities. Make sure you visit both before deciding.
It's not for everyone but it works for us..

I've lived in Sunset for about 13 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.
I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now. When I first moved here from Portland, I was surprised by walkability. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.
A few things worth knowing:
- Active local events and festivals
- Four distinct seasons
- The community vibe scene is tough
The downsides:
- Winters are long and cold
- Can feel isolated
Overall I'd rate it 8/10 for young professionals. Hope this helps!.
