Starting a business in Cape Coral?

First post here. My partner and I are The unemployment rate is 2.3%, which is pretty low. Crime rate is something to consider — Cape Coral sits at 116.4 per 100K. Average temperature is around 75°F, so it's warm year-round. The parks and outdoor areas are a huge plus. Downtown has improved a lot in recent years. The city has invested a lot in new development. Any advice would be great. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Public transit needs a lot of work honestly. The weather takes some getting used to. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Cost of living is definitely rising, but still manageable. People here are genuinely friendly, not just surface-level. The city has invested a lot in new development. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. Night life is decent if you know the right spots. Traffic can be rough during rush hour, no sugarcoating that. Honestly, I think it's a great place if you know where to look.

I've lived in Cedar Grove for about 7 years now, so I can give you a pretty detailed perspective.

I'm still on the fence after all this time. When I first moved here from Charlotte, I was surprised by pet-friendliness. It took some adjustment but now I wouldn't trade it.

A few things worth knowing:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Decent public transit for the size
- The job market scene is excellent

The downsides:
- Bugs and humidity in summer
- Far from beaches/mountains

Overall I'd rate it 7/10 for families. Definitely worth checking out..

Real talk - this place is not for everyone, and I think that's OK.

If you value housing market, you'll love it. The outdoor recreation is genuinely average and I've found it's not perfect but it works for me. My neighborhood (West) is established and I feel safe walking around at night.

But if you're coming from Charlotte, be prepared for the culture shock. job market is completely different here. And Summers can be brutally hot.

My advice would be to visit for at least a week before committing. Rent first, don't buy. And explore multiple neighborhoods - they're all different.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.

I'm a data analyst who relocated here from San Diego about 14 years ago. The main reasons were a fresh start and cost of living.

Pros I've experienced:
- Great outdoor activities nearby
- Friendly community, easy to meet people
- Good healthcare facilities

Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high

Financially, we've found it solid compared to where we came from. Buying is tough right now, renting is more reasonable. Groceries are manageable, gas is better than expected.

Socially, it exceeded my expectations. Your mileage may vary depending on what you're looking for..
