Hey folks, You can expect to pay around $855 for rent here. There's a real sense of community in certain neighborhoods. I'd say it's better for families than young singles. Thanks in advance! I'd say it's better for families than young singles. The food scene here is surprisingly good. Property taxes are high but you get good services.

Public transit is surprisingly good here. You'll probably need a car for most things. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else right now.

Great question. I'll try to be comprehensive here.
I'm a accountant who relocated here from LA about 9 years ago. The main reasons were weather and school.
Pros I've experienced:
- Cost of living is very reasonable
- Affordable housing options
- Lots of family-friendly activities
Cons that are real:
- Nightlife is limited
- Property taxes are high
Financially, we've found it tough compared to where we came from. Lots of new construction which should help. Groceries are pricey, gas is underrated.
Socially, it was the best decision I ever made. Good luck with whatever you decide..

Depends on what you're looking for honestly. If you want public transit, then yeah this place is great. But if job market matters to you, might want to look elsewhere.

Bought a house here in 2015 and I have mixed feelings honestly. Property values have gone up significantly since then.

OK so I've been meaning to write this for a while. I moved here 10 years ago from Salt Lake City and here's my honest breakdown:
Housing: The market is competitive but not impossible. We're paying /mo for a 2-bed in North. It's better than expected for what you get.
Jobs: The market is stable right now, especially in tech. If you're in manufacturing you might struggle.
People: Generally challenging. It took about 4 months to build a solid friend group.
Food: surprisingly good. Tons of options if you like sushi.
